From the moment you walk through the door we like to help make your stay as welcoming, relaxing and enjoyable as possible. We've tried to think of as many things as we can to help make things as comfortable as possible for you
Have a look at our 'Things to do' page for more information if you need advice on where to go, what to do, where to eat and where to drink in Pickering or the surrounding area.
We offer free high speed WiFi internet access during your stay which is available in most rooms and is fastest in the lounge
Each room has a flat screen Freeview TV and DVD player and there is a large screen with Sky+ HD TV for you to enjoy the film or the match in the guest lounge.
We have a good selection of current magazines including fashion, cycling and tourism. We also have lots of books for you to read during your stay and you can even borrow them as long as you promise to send it back!
We have a dedicated room for you to store all wet and muddy outdoor gear. If it's especially wet we can hang it in front of the AGA overnight ready for tomorrow's adventures!
After a day on the bike we have a bike rack hose and wash area to clean your bikes. For a small charge we also have bike wash products, brushes, degreaser and lubes. These are included in the price if you're on one of our cycling holidays or for a small charge for B&B only guests.
You need to make sure your pride and joy is insured away from home but to help your peace of mind we have secure lock up with insurance approved locks available for you to use during your stay.
If you need to tinker and fettle whilst you're here we have a fully equipped workshop with stands and tools. Mike is also a qualified cycle mechanic who can offer advice or can fix your bike for you (at our workshop servicing rates).
We have most maps of the local area for you to borrow and lots of guide books for walks and attractions in the area. We can point you in the right direction for cycling although our best routes are reserved for our guided rides!
Parking is usually ample, unrestricted and on street at the front of the house. In busy periods you may have to park a few car lengths down the street. We'll always do our best to help you get settled.
We're very happy to recommend places to eat and to book you a table each evening especially if you may be arriving late and want to make sure you can get in somewhere in busy periods.
The dining area is a light and spacious room with a view into the rear garden. It has separate tables for intimacy or a large table for families or parties of guests where we serve a hearty 'Aga' cooked Yorkshire breakfast to start your day.
We use a selection of the very best local produce and are constantly on the lookout for new tasty local treats.
Our sausages, bacon and black pudding are all from award winning local butchers who source from local farms.
Occasionally we also have special options available like fresh yoghurt with home grown fruit compote or smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toasted home made bread.
